Matthew "Matteo" Lane (June 28, 1986) is an American actor, singer, comedian, and artist. Lane began his comedy career in 2011 at open mics in Chicago, where he had previously performed as a singer at Boystown clubs. Around 2012, he emigrated to the Big Apple to become a future storyboard artist.
MTV asked Lane to appear on Guy Code during the 2014 Just for Laughs festival. Then he joined the cast of MTV's Ladylike. After appearing in Joking Off, it was alongside stars like Nicole Byer, Jade Catta-Preta, and Blair Socci.
On The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Lane participated in a panel discussion regarding Kim Davis. As part of the 2018 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, Canada, Lane participated in "The Ethnic Show" as the Italian representative. On Snapchat, he presents the comedy show Ghost Hunt.
From February 2020 to February 2023, Lane and Emma Willmann hosted a podcast about the LGBTQ community called Inside the Closet. Both may be seen in "The Comedy Lineup" on Netflix. Lane and Nico Tortorella were interviewed for a Nancy podcast on May 1, 2018.
For his contributions to stand-up comedy in 2018, Lane was named by The Advocate as one of the LGBT innovators, icons, and disruptors.
