Kathleen Madigan (September 30, 1965) is an American TV personality and stand-up comedian born in Florissant, Missouri. Madigan began her career in the field by working as a journalist for the St. Louis-area Suburban Journals and the Missouri Athletic Club's publications department. She also did stand-up comedy during "open mic" evenings at local St. Louis bars. Her father, Jack, is the one she says inspired her to pursue comedy as a profession.
She became so well-liked at these that a national chain of comedy clubs called The Funny Bone offered her a job performing stand-up comedy. In addition, she has her radio show on Sirius XM called Blue Collar Comedy. Madigan has toured with other comedians twice to perform at USO events supporting American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a writer, she has contributed to the Emmy Awards telecast hosted by Garry Shandling on multiple occasions (2004, 2005).
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, hosted by Jerry Seinfeld, featured her in 2016. After the epidemic forced Madigan to cancel her tour, in August 2020, she began recording her comedic podcast, Madigan's Pubcast. She was featured on the Saturday, December 19, 2020, episode of "Girls Gone Wild" on CBS, which aired as part of Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed.
