Jason Bishop (January 23, 1978) is an American magician and illusionist. He was born in Newark, New Jersey. Bishop performs one of the largest touring illusion and magic shows in the United States. He has also won numerous awards for his magic tricks and talent. He performs 150 shows a year, including theaters, performing arts centers, corporate events, and luxury cruise ships. Bishop has performed throughout Europe and the United States in his career. He has been called “one of the greatest modern illusionists of our time.”
Bishop started his magic career with his assistant, Hess. They promoted themselves as a touring illusion and magic show. The duo sent demo tapes to several resorts in the Poconos area, such as Woodloch Pines and Caesar’s resorts. The bookers became aware of the duo, so they started getting bookings at universities and colleges.
According to Bishop, his magic influences include Harry Houdini, Mark Kalin and Jinger, Lance Burton, and David Copperfield: and comedy influences include Patrice O’Neal, Andy Kaufman, and Bill Hicks. Bishop has also performed at venues such as the US Coast Guard Academy, the US Naval Academy, the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California, and the Midland Arena in Midland, Texas. Bishop has also performed at The Bamboozle Festival.
