Howie Mandel Information
Howard Michael Mandel (November 29, 1955) is a Canadian actor, producer, television personality, and comedian born in Toronto, Ontario. While in Los Angeles, Mandel was hired as a regular performer after delivering a set at The Comedy Store. Mandel was scheduled for multiple performances during the 1979 and 1980 runs of the syndicated comedy game program Make Me Laugh after a producer noticed him there. In the summer of 1979, he was scheduled to open for David Letterman at several shows.
After starring as Dr. Wayne Fiscus on St. Elsewhere for six years (beginning in 1982) alongside Ed Flanders and Norman Lloyd, Mandel became a household name in the US. In March 1984, he was also a guest on the NBC game show Match Game—Hollywood Squares Hour for a week.
Season 2 of Canada's Got Talent, which Mandel served as a judge for, premiered in 2022, following the announcement in October 2021. The Howie Mandel Does Stuff Podcast, which Mandel co-hosts with his daughter Jackelyn Shultz, has been running since February 2021, and the 10-episode first season of Bullsh*t the Game Show, hosted by Mandel, premiered on Netflix on April 27, 2022.
