Damon Wayans Information
Damon Kyle Wayans Sr. is an American producer, writer, actor, and stand-up comedian. Wayans was born in Harlem, New York City, and is a member of the Wayans Family of entertainers.
Damon began his stand-up comedy career in 1982 when he appeared as an effeminate hotel employee in the Eddie Murphy film entitled “Beverly Hills Cop” (1984). He also appeared on Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1986 as a featured performer. He created the Fox sketch comedy series called In Living Color with his brother Keenen. The show went on air in April 1990 and continued running until May 1994.
Damon has appeared in many films such as The Great White Hype, Celtic Pride, Bulletproof, Major Payne, The Last Boy Scout, and Mo’ Money. He also wrote and starred in the film “Blankman.” Damon has appeared in the video of Janet Jackson, “The Best Things in Life Are Free.” He produced Waynehead in October 1996, which was a short-lived cartoon for the WB. In March 1998, Damon starred in a self-titled series, “Damon.”
Wayans has received four Emmy awards nominations for his writing and acting in Living Color. He also won the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Male Performer in 2002 for his role in My Wife and Kids. Damon appeared in several hit films so far, including Hollywood Shuffle (1987), Earth Girls Are Easy (1988), Look Who’s Talking Too (1990), Farce of the Penguins (2006), and the list goes on.
