Zumanity is a theatrical production by Cirque du Soleil. A seductive and temptation-filled play where sexual taboos are explored in a cabaret-style show. The show is performed at New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The Zumanity production was unveiled on September 20, 2003. Becoming the first sexually-explicit theme by the Cirque show. It was billed as “the sensual side of Cirque du Soleil” or “another side of Cirque du Soleil.”
The show, strictly meant for a mature adult audience, is played with erotic songs, dance moves, acrobatics, and comedy. Rene Richard Cyr and Dominic Champagne created the Zumanity show. The idea of coming with something entirely different for Cirque was born out of a chance Guy Laliberte (founder of Cirque) got to create two new shows in Vegas.
He reckoned instead of creating a new show similar to what is there already; thereby the shows cannibalizing on each other. He came up with something completely different, and thus Zumanity was born. A sexually-explicit show unlike any other before by Cirque.
