Cirque du Soleil's Kooz is a traveling circus show that debuted in 2007. It took place in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. David Shiner, who performed as a clown in the Nouvelle Expérience production of Cirque du Soleil, penned the script and worked as director. His background as a clown and his time spent performing with the Swiss circuses Circus Knie and Circus Roncalli influenced his approach to Kooz.
The Kooza’s score is written by Jean-François Côté. It draws influence from various genres and periods, including Indian classical music, 1970s funk, orchestral music, and 1940s and 1950s cinema scores. The CD was released on June 24, 2008.
The first cinematic adaptation of Cirque du Soleil's Kooz was released as A Thrilling Ride through Kooz. Roger Cantin helmed and released this documentary short in September 2007. Montreal, Canada, served as the setting for the filming.
In September 2008, Cirque du Soleil released a cinematic adaptation of Kooz. Mario Janelle directed, and Jacques Méthé produced the picture as an expert. Eight high-definition cameras were used to film the scenes in Toronto, Canada.
