Carlos Mencia Information
Ned Arnel (October 22, 1967) "Carlos" Mencía, a Honduran-American comedian, writer, and actor, was born in San Pedro Sula. Much of his comedic work deals with political themes, including racial inequality, Latinx culture, the criminal justice system, and socioeconomic status.
Being the presenter of Mind of Mencia (2005–2008) on Comedy Central and a joke thief (hence the moniker "Carlos Menstealia") are his two most notable accomplishments. Several comedians accused Mencía of stealing jokes and plagiarizing around the time the program was canceled.
Opie and Anthony, which aired on CBS Radio and XM Satellite Radio, occasionally included Mencia as a guest. The inaugural Opie and Anthony's Traveling Virus Comedy Tour, which took place in 2006, included him—a Bud Light ad featuring Mencia aired during Super Bowl XLI. Belly Burner is a weight loss product for which Mencia started appearing in ads in November 2009.
On June 24 and 25, 2011, Mencia performed at the Improv in Schaumburg, Illinois, as part of his stand-up comedy tour that concluded on September 16, 2011, at Treasure Island in Las Vegas. In addition to owning many restaurants in Maggie Rita's network, Mencia helped start the company. Because of the negative feedback they received, Mencia's restaurants shut down in January 2013. However, one franchised store kept using the name.
