Brett Goldstein Information
Brett Goldstein (July 17, 1980) is a British writer, actor, comedian, and podcaster. He was born in London, England. He went to one of the oldest independent schools in Britain, Sevenoaks School. After high school, Goldstein continued his education and earned a film degree from the University of Warwick. Moving to NYC to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he began his acting training. He used his time at the university to lay the groundwork for the scripts he would eventually perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Goldstein was engaged as a writer for the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis. It was a series by TV producer Bill Lawrence in 2020. As a result of his scripts, he was chosen to play the role of retired football player Roy Kent on the show. His performance earned him two consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022.
Goldstein and Will Bridges collaborated on the 2013 short film For Life, the basis for the six-part AMC science fiction anthology series Soulmates. Sarah Snook, Malin Akerman, Betsy Brandt, and Charlie Heaton starred in the inaugural episode in October 2020. He joined Warner Bros. Television on a multi-year overall contract beginning in 2022. Goldstein played Hercules in the post-credits scene of Thor: Love and Thunder that same year and will reprise the role in future MCU films.
