Andrew Callaghan (April 23, 1997) is an American journalist. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Callaghan sought a clever or humorous method to record the "hellish scenes" he witnessed while working as a doorman on Bourbon Street. He left his job and started a YouTube and Instagram series called Quarter Confessions, named after its location in the French Quarter, in which he interviewed drunk individuals on the streets, revealing their deepest, darkest secrets.
All Gas, No Brakes: A Hitchhiker's Diary, Callaghan's memoir-zine about his 70-day hitchhiking adventure across America when he was 19 years old, was published in 2019. Before beginning his undergraduate journalism studies, the author of this memoir had the idea for the YouTube series All Gas No Brakes. Callaghan and Doing Things Media teamed up after hearing Quarter Confessions and decided to support All Gas No Brakes.
Callaghan stated in March 2021 that he and his crew would no longer contribute to All Gas No Brakes or its planned television version. On Instagram, he announced, "I am no longer associated with All Gas No Brakes." I no longer benefit from the show's crowdsourcing efforts on Patreon or YouTube.
