NCHC Tournament Information
The NCHC has held eleven tournaments, the most recent being the 2024 edition, which took place from March 15th to 23rd, 2024. The Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota, hosted the last four matches, while the quarterfinals were played at the campus sites of the home teams. The postseason tournament's first round was a best-of-three series.
Each of the eight conference teams participated in the competition. Using their final conference standing as a basis, teams were seeded from 1 to 8, with teams with an equal number of points being seeded using a tiebreaker mechanism. The top four seeds will host one of the lower-seeded teams, and the top four seeds will also have home ice.
A trip to the Xcel Energy Center to compete in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff was in store for the series champions from the preliminary round. A single-elimination format was employed in the Frozen Faceoff. The final conference standings were used to re-seed the teams from 1 to 4.
