Legends Classic Information

The Legends Classic, now known as the Roman Legends Classic, is a men's and women's college basketball competition held annually in November since 2007. The Legends Classic features four teams, one from each major conference. The tournament has been played at several locations around the New York City region, but the Barclays Center in Brooklyn has been used the most.

In 2007, the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, hosted the inaugural two Legends Classic tournaments. Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia, and New Mexico State each hosted two games that year before advancing to the semifinals in Newark, so in that first year, only the four regional round hosts were assured of playing four games. Each team has been assured four games since the 2008-09 season.

The number of participating teams dropped from 12 to 8, representing eight leagues in 2013. Each of the four predetermined regional locations hosts two games. There will be a four-team competition on campus, with the top two teams advancing to the semifinals and finals at New York City's Barclays Center.
