The Genesys 300 is a Saturday night IndyCar Series race in early June at Texas Motor Speedway located near Fort Worth, Texas. The race served as the first of its kind after the Indianapolis 500, from 1997 until 2005. The Genesys 300 debuted in 1997 as the very first IndyCar race in Texas since 1979. Some of the past names of the race are True Value 500 (1997–1998), Longhorn 500 (1999), Casino Magic 500 (2000–2001), Bombardier Learjet 500 (2005–2006), Firestone Twin 275s (2011), and DXC Technologies 600 (2018–2019).
When it comes to American open-wheel racing, the Genesys 300 marked the first-ever superspeedway night race. It has been heavily regarded as the best racing series by fans, media, and competitors. A second 500 km IndyCar Series race took place in the fall from 1998 to 2004, “Texas II.”
The most wins as a driver in the Genesys 300 is Scott Dixon with four. Most wins as a team go to Team Penske (8), and most wins as a manufacturer are earned by Chassis: Dallara (21) and Engine: Honda (11).
