BSN Winter Classic Information
A winter basketball event was held in the United States, the BSN Winter Classic. The greatest basketball teams in the country compete in Division III of the NCAA. The tournament is traditionally held at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh and involves three nationally ranked visiting teams. Participating universities in the 2021 gathering were Wisconsin-Stout, Calvin College, and Ripon University.
The Titans are regularly ranked highly by D3Hoops.com among Division III men's basketball teams. In 2019, Oshkosh triumphed against Swathmore College 96-82 to claim the national championship. Since transitioning from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to the NCAA's Division III in 1996, the school has had five consecutive postseason appearances (2016-2020). The Titans hosted Ripon College in a playoff game that year and won 71-56.
In most years, Oshkosh plays host to one of the other three teams in the tournament, a team from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC).
