Bakersfield Condors Information
The Bakersfield Condors play ice hockey at the professional level and are members of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition to owning the franchise, the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League are also linked with it. Mechanics Bank Arena is the home arena of the Condors.
The prior franchise, the Condors, was a founding member of the West Coast Hockey League from 1995 to 2003 and an ECHL club from 2003 until the conclusion of the 2014–15 season. The team relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, and became known as the Norfolk Admirals. On January 7, 2017, at Memorial Stadium on the campus of Bakersfield College, the Condors played host to the Ontario Reign in the Condorstown Outdoor Classic, the second AHL Outdoor Classic game for the 2016–17 season.
Even though there were periods of severe rain, the game continued as planned, and the Condors were victorious against the Reign by a score of 3–2 in overtime. From January 12, 2019, to February 25, 2019, the Condors equaled the second-longest AHL victory streak with 17 games during the 2018–19 season. The San Diego Gulls eliminated the first-place Condors from the playoffs after they had won the Pacific Division during the regular season.
