Willy Chirino Information
Willy Chirino (April 5, 1947) is a Cuban-American musician, record producer, singer, and songwriter. In 1974, Chirino released his debut record, marking the beginning of his artistic career in Miami. In the time after, he released more than 20 albums, several of which were certified platinum or gold. "Son del Alma" was named the Best Salsa/Merengue Album by the Grammy Awards in 2006.

Both UNICEF and the US Department of State have acknowledged the charitable work of Willy Chirino, the man behind the Willy Chirino Foundation. Willy Chirino's most recent album, "Willy Chirino Live-35th Anniversary" (also known as "Willy Chirino En Vivo-35 Aniversario"), was a CD/DVD combo that highlighted his 35th year in music. At the 2007 Latin Grammys, he received his first nomination for Best Salsa record for this record.
Amarraditos (Bound to One Another), the first album co-written by Chirino and his wife, singer-songwriter Lissette Álvarez, was published not long ago. A variety of traditional Spanish love songs make up the CD. Chirino undertook a world tour following the publication of his album "Pa'lante" in the spring of 2008. For his work in music, Chirino was honored with a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in Las Vegas in 2014.
