This rock & roll group from the Midwest had something special from the minute childhood friends Aaron Becker and Garrett Johnston formed Stay Outside in 2016. The Indiana residents got their first taste of the national spotlight a few years later. The trio gained notoriety across the nation when their self-produced, self-directed music video for "All The Way Down" appeared on Reddit's main page after they added drummer Noah Mitchener to their roster and released their 2019 EP Bottle Rocket.
Frontman and lyricist Aaron Becker's upbeat, sincere approach to songwriting keeps Stay Outside's alternative-leaning songs in place. Although much of their music is more explosive, in their most recent single, "Overboard," the band shows a more surfer-like side. Becker (vocals/guitar), Johnston (guitar), and Mitchener (drums) have been hard at work in the studio since its release, perfecting their full-length debut. One of the best rock bands from the Midwest aims for something even more exceptional with their upcoming album, which should see the trio's sound development continue.
