Southern Brave Information
A 100-ball cricket franchise is called Southern Brave. The team competes in the recently established The Hundred competition, which was first played during the 2021 English and Welsh cricket season, and represents the historic counties of Hampshire and Sussex. At the Rose Bowl in Hampshire, both the men's and women's teams compete.

However, the ECB felt that it required a more distinctive format to entice crowds. Mahela Jayawardene, a former Sri Lankan batsman and coach of the 2019 IPL champions, was named the inaugural coach of the men's team in August 2019, while Charlotte Edwards, a former England Women's captain, was named coach of the women's team. There will be two former Hampshire players helping Jayawardene.
The men's team will also receive assistance from former New Zealand international bowler Shane Bond, former opening batters Jimmy Adams, the coach of Hampshire 2nd XI, and Richard Halsall.
