Silvestre Dangond Information
Silvestre Francisco Dangond Corrales (May 12, 1980) is a singer from Colombia. He was born in Urumita. His father, William José "El Palomo" Dangond Baquero, was a singer who collaborated with Andrés "El Turco" Gil on ten singles in the mid-1970s. He says that his father inspired him to follow in his footsteps. His mother, an integral part of his academic and informal upbringing, is from a musical family and has imparted her magnetic personality to her son.
After finishing high school, Dangond continued to devote himself fully to music. In 2002, he formed a band with amateur accordion musician Ramón López and released their debut album, Tanto para Tí, which had 12 songs after their performances at various parties and events.
Juancho De la Espriella, an accordionist, and Peter Manjarrez, a vocalist, crossed paths with Dangond at a serenata through Carlos Blum, a mutual acquaintance, manager, and promoter. Their paths had never met despite their mutual knowledge of one another.
They quickly released their debut album as a duo, Lo mejor para los dos (2003), which consisted of thirteen tracks after their musical union generated considerable excitement among Vallenato reviewers and fans.
Dangond and De la Espriella's third studio album, Ponte a la Mode, was released in 2005. It was a huge hit in Colombia and beyond, particularly among Latinos in the US.
