Orphan Jon and The Abandoned (OJATA) is a roots & blues band that was founded in 2014. The group originated from Southern California and quickly became a go-to band in the area due to its high energy and endless passion during the performances. The current lineup of OJATA consists of Singer/Songwriter Jon English, Guitarist/Songwriter Brett Cox, Bassist Ray Sadolsky, and Drummer Jason Blakely.
OJATA is a band that uniquely expresses itself; Jon English plays a significant role in this. He can be moving, emotional, heartfelt, and intense at one point, and the other minute he is soothing, soulful, lustful, and desiring. OJATA is known as a band that captures the essence of what the blues is all about. The band's music is full of hard work, rough life, grinding days, touching hearts, moving souls, and heartfelt love.
OJATA was nominated for the Best New Artist Debut Album and The Sean Costello Rising Star Award at the Blues Blast Music Awards. The awards were held in Rockford, Illinois, in 2018.
