Not Our First Goat Rodeo is the long-awaited follow-up part of the Grammy Award-winning The Goat Rodeo Sessions, announced by Sony Music Masterworks to be accompanied by Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer, and Chris Thile. Not Our First Goat Rodeo debuted alongside its lead offering, "Scarcely Cricket," which is paired by the group's live performance video.
Goat Rodeo sessions have two sets that are combined with the talents of the four solo artists, each being a Grammy Award winner. Both the sessions feature the voice and artistry of a famous singer-songwriter as well as a fellow Grammy Award-winner, Aoife O'Donovan. He will be joining the lineup as a guest on Not Our First Goat Rodeo which follows classical, classical crossover, and bluegrass music genres.
The four musicians come from diverse backgrounds with Stuart Duncan (fiddle, banjo) being a multi-instrument bluegrass virtuoso. He has played with artists from Dolly Parton to George Strait. On the other hand, Yo-Yo Ma (cello) is a classical cellist who is known for a deep belief in culture's essential role in society and cross-genre collaborations. Edgar Meyer (bass) is a double bassist and composer who wrote for musicians such as Zakir Hussain, Béla Fleck, Emanuel Ax, and many more.
Last but not least, Chris Thile (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, vocals) is the mandolinist wunderkind who fronts bands like Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek. He also hosts the public radio's Live from Here show.
