Never Forget Concert Information
Never Forget is an English musical with a book written by Ed Curtis and Guy Jones. The screenwriter, Danny Brocklehurst, has acted as story advisor. It is based on the 1990s songs of a boy band called Take That, written by Gary Barlow. The musical also features additional lyrics and music by Adrienne Anderson, Dan Hartman, and Barry Manilow. The story of the music focuses on friendship, betrayal among the members of a Take That tribute band, ambition, and love. The musical’s title has been taken from the chart-topping single of Take That entitled “Never Forget.”
Never Forget was premiered in July 2007 at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff, before a short UK tour. In 2008, the musical was also nominated for the WOS Theatregoers Choice Award for Best Touring Production. In March 2008, it was reopened for a second six-city pre-West End tour at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley.
On May 7, 2008, Never Forget started previews in London at the Savoy Theatre. It was officially opened to generally favorable reviews on May 21, 2008. Characters and the people who played the band include Gary Barlow (as Ash Sherwood), Robbie Williams (Jake Turner), Mark Owen (Adrian Banks), Howard Donald (Dirty Harry), Jason Orange (Jose Reize). Chloe Turner, Ron Freeman, Annie Borrowman, and Babs Sherwood support roles.
