Lindsey Adams Buckingham (October 3, 1949) is an American songwriter, singer, producer, and musician. His main cause of popularity is said to be his job as a lead guitarist and vocalist in Fleetwood Mac (1975-1987 and 1997-2018), which is a music group. He is from Palo Alto, California. The music style of Buckingham is described as a new wave and rock one. Fleetwood Mac is the main cause behind the great exposure of Buckingham. He attended the Menlo Atherton High School and later attended the San Jose State University but did not graduate. ,
Buckingham never learned how to play the guitar. At an early age, Buckingham started to take an interest in folk music and got influenced by banjo methods. In 1972, Buckingham, along with his then-girlfriend Stevie Nicks recorded around seven demos. These demos were recorded at his father’s half-inch 4-track Ampex recorder. The pair later got signed to Polydor Records and released Buckingham Nicks (September 1973).
In 1975, Buckingham joined Fleetwood as a guitarist along with Nicks. The band extensively toured along with the two new members. Some of the successful songs contributed by Buckingham are "Monday Morning," "I'm So Afraid," and "Blue Letter." A few of the other solo albums by Buckingham are Law and Order, Go Insane, Out of the Cradle, Under the Skin, Seeds We Sow, Lindsey Buckingham Christine McVie, and a few more.
The three of the live albums by Buckingham are; Live at the Bass Performance Hall 2008, Songs from the Small Machine: Live in L.A at Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills 2011, and One Man Show 2012. Buckingham was ranked on 100th position in the 2011 list of Rolling Stones entitled "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame while being a member of the Fleetwood in 1998.
