Klo Pelgag Information
Klo Pelgag (March 13, 1990) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She was born in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Quebec. Her career kicked off in 2009 when she began making appearances at various festivals and music contests in Quebec, and it culminated in 2012 when she released an EP bearing her name. In 2013, she released L'Alchimie des monstres, her first full-length.
In 2014, she took home the Félix Award for Best New Artist. Her song "La fièvre des fleurs" was a finalist for the 2014 SOCAN Songwriting Prize, and her 2015 album L'Alchimie des monstres was nominated for the Juno Award for Best Francophone Album. In Montreal, Canada, during the Francophone SOCAN Awards in December of 2014, she took home the SOCAN Breakout Award.
She dropped her newest album, L'étoile thoracique, in the middle of 2016's Thanksgiving season. She was named Female Singer of the Year at the 2018 Gala de l'ADISQ and was awarded the Prix Félix. Her album Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, released in 2020, made the 2021 Polaris Music Prize shortlist. Her sibling, the composer and arranger Mathieu David Gagnon is best known for his work on the Flore Laurentienne project, but he has also written orchestral arrangements for Pelgag's albums.
