Keznamdi Information
Keznamdi was born into the music industry; his parents are the main singers of the international reggae band Chakula. He watched them tour the world and produce ten albums in the recording studio in his house in the verdant St. Andrew highlands of Jamaica. Music was in every aspect of Keznamdi's life.
Kez learned the words to his parents' songs at a young age, bouncing perfectly to that addictive Reggae beat, thanks to the many nights he spent sleeping next to the strum of his father's guitar and hanging out backstage with his sisters at Reggae performances. Keznamdi's mother has a background in early childhood education at Harvard University, so it's not surprising that at 5, he recorded his debut song, "Mix a Color," an instructive song about color mixing.
His mother's children's CD "Save the World" became a viral phenomenon in elementary schools across Jamaica, and he leaped at the chance to play his smash single "Mix a Color" on tour in support of the record. While a student at St. Mary's College in Northern California, Keznamdi began to take his musical profession to the next level. The ability to play Division I soccer, another of his lifelong loves that he still finds time for, was the primary draw for him to study in the United States for college.
