Kenny Loggins Information
Kenneth Clark Loggins (January 7, 1948) is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was born in Everett, Washington. In 1966, Loggins earned his diploma from San Gabriel Mission High School. In 1968 and 1969, he was a part of the band The Second Helping, which released three songs on Viva Records.
Greg Shaw called them "excellent punky folk-pop records"; he put "Let Me In" on both Highs in the Mid-Sixties, Volume 2 and the Pebbles, Volume 9 CD, so it's safe to assume that Loggins was the bandleader and main singer.
In October of 2018, Loggins was honored at the San Diego International Film Festival with the first-ever Music Icon Award. Loggins and Jim Messina reunited for a pair of performances at the Hollywood Bowl on September 22 and 24, 2022, commemorating the 50th anniversary of their performance there in promotion of Loggins's debut album, Sittin' In. Songs from the 1970s, such as "Danny's Song" and "House at Pooh Corner," were featured in the opening performance.
Loggins soloed for the show's second set, delivering renditions of "I'm All Right," "Footloose," and "Danger Zone," among his other chart-toppers. To celebrate April Fool's Day in 2022, the Mall of America renamed their "Log Chute" attraction the "Kenny Loggins Chute," and the animatronic Paul Bunyan was recast as Loggins.
