Ebi Information
Ebrahim Hamedi (June 19, 1949) is an Iranian pop singer professionally known by his stage name, Ebi. He was born in Khorramdareh, Imperial State of Iran. Among his six siblings, he is the oldest. He and his friends Shahram Shabpareh and Siavash Ghomayshi, influenced by the Beatles, created a boy band called the Rebels in the mid-1960s. Before starting a solo career, he was in Sunboys and Black Cats bands.
In Tehran, where he began his career, Hamedi initially found success as a boy band member and then as a solo artist. After the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1977, Ebi fled to Los Angeles, where he worked from exile until he died in 1979. In addition, he was crowned "Mr. Voice of the World" at the festival. Ebi has published over 30 albums and nearly 200 singles throughout his 50-year career.
Before the Islamic Revolution in 1979, he left Iran to go on tour in the United States, where he spent the better part of a year. Tasmim (Decision) Ebi, like many other "politically charged" songs, made comments about the 2009 Iranian presidential election. Ebi made an appearance on the Iranian talent show.
