Don Campbell Information
Don Campbell is a British reggae singer. He is from northwest London. Campbell is best known for his lovers’ rock albums that he released from the mid-to-late 1990s. He was a part of the band Undivided Roots in the 1980s before going solo. In 1993, he launched his first single, which quickly rose in the British reggae charts. His first three songs and first album all charted at number one, and he won six accolades at the British Reggae Industry Awards in 1994.
Campbell collaborated with General Saint later in his career. He recorded a slew of albums, including a cover of “Oh! Carol” by Neil Sedaka. The cover reached number 54 in the UK Singles Chart.
“Save the Last Dance for Me,” another song for Campbell and Saint, reached number 75, as did “Stop That Train.” Time on the Move, released in 1995, was a compilation of their collaborations. Since then, he’s released many albums, collaborated with J. C. Lodge on a cover of the Bee Gees’ “Islands in the Stream,” and played at the Bob Marley Day Festival in Long Beach, California, in 2003.
Campbell’s notable albums include The Album (1994), Time on the Move (1995), Rise Up (2001), Reggae Max (2001), Flex (2001), Any Day Now (2003), and Door No. 1 (2003).
