David Garibaldi Information
David Michael Garibaldi (December 15, 1982) is an American performance painter. He is popularly known for his “Rhythm and Hue” stage act in which Garibaldi rapidly creates paintings of notable rock musicians. Born in Los Angeles, California, Garibaldi went to Sheldon High School in Northern California. Later, he dropped out and did not graduate.
Garibaldi was invited to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, where he painted a portrait of Mick Jagger that increased his popularity. Garibaldi was the opening act for Blue Man Group’s tour in the United States and Canada in September 2008 and has been the opening act for Snoop Dogg during the half-time show for the Golden State Warriors. Garibaldi painted Carlos Santana and, the musician himself greeted Garibaldi and unexpectedly signed the painting. In 2009, he appeared on The 700 Club; here, he painted a portrait of Jesus.
Garibaldi painted a self-portrait on July 29, 2010, during a benefit performance that took place at the 11th Annual Sacramento Film and Music Festival, at the Crest Theatre. He also appeared on the seventh season of America’s Got Talent, where he went to the finals. Garibaldi was invited by Matthew Patrick (MatPat) as a guest-star on GTLive on YouTube. He created several paintings that were given to the lucky raffle winners who were watching the stream. He has also opened for KISS in 2019 on their End of the Road World Tour.
