Damian Marley Information
Damian Robert Nesta "Jr. Gong" (July 21, 1978) the Jamaican DJ, singer, songwriter, and rapper. Marley was born in Kingston, Jamaica. He has four Grammys to his name. With the daughter of Freddie McGregor and the son of Third World's Cat Coore, he established a musical group called the Shepherds when he was thirteen years old.
These guys were the headliners of the 1992 Reggae Sunsplash event. When Damian's band disbanded in the early '90s, he went solo. His debut album, Mr. Marley, was released in 1996 with the support of his father's company, Tuff Gong. Many were astonished to hear a Marley deejaying instead of singing on the record. A second studio album by Marley, Halfway Tree, was published.
The album's lead single, "Miracle Worker," debuted on iTunes on July 7, 2011. Marley, Stone, and Jagger perform the reggae tune. Upon its release, the UK Singles Chart placed the song at position 195. On August 12, 2011, the music video debuted on YouTube. Stewart directed the video, which was shot in Los Angeles's Paramount Studios.
In July 2017, Damian Marley dropped Stony Hill, his fourth studio album. Released in August 2016, "Nail Pon Cross" was the debut single. At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, the record took home the prize for Best Reggae Album.
