Rapper D. Savage from Los Angeles made his name after graduating from high school with a melodic and airy sound but by no means soft after getting his start in the SoundCloud rap scene. With his very first song, which became a viral smash in 2016, he continued to develop on mixtapes like D Phoenix from 2018 and more developed studio albums like BPL from 2021.
Dylan McCord, who would later become D. Savage, was born in Queens, New York, in 1998. However, his family soon moved to Los Angeles. When he was 17 years old, he had some free time and decided to record a song named "30 Round Clip" in a friend's recording studio. The adolescent rapper's first attempt at recording a song garnered millions of streams after being uploaded online under the stage name D Savage 3900. He kept releasing singles in this manner throughout 2016 and 2017, and his 2017 song "I Know," which displayed tremendous artistic improvement from his rudimentary first recording experiments, became a hit.
He quickly agreed to a major label deal with a Capitol subsidiary, and in 2018 (going by the moniker D. Savage), he dropped the D Phoenix mixtape. Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Yung Bans all made guest appearances on the album, which helped the rapper gain greater notoriety with songs like "Opera." D. Savage released Trust No One, his debut studio album, in July 2019. The rapper reappeared in 2021 with his new album BPL after releasing the single "How Does It Feel" in 2020. BPL included a few guest appearances, including brief cameos from Lil Gnar and Matt Ox and the single "IDC," a joint effort with Trippie Redd.
