Chris Pinnella is an American singer whose influences run from the arias of Pavarotti to the elegant jazz phrasings of Tony Bennett, Groban, and Bocelli. Pinella built his brand as a bandleader through gigs at various venues ranging from theatre across the United States to the big city nightspots such as The Algonquin Arts Theatre in New Jersey, Axelrod PAC, McLoone’s Supper Club, The Grunin Center for the Arts, and House of Independents.
Pinnella started his professional career at 16. He had an audition for Maestro Fr. Alphonse Stephenson & the Orchestra of St. Peter, performing with the orchestra on occasion. Later, he attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York City to pursue his music career and receive his degree. He started working off-Broadway and in regional theatre. Soon Pinnella grabbed the opportunity to portray the title role of Simeon in the New Musical “Simeon’s Gift.” It was co-written by the daughter of icon Julie Andrews, Emma Walton-Hamilton. Pinnella has also worked with Emmy and Oscar award-winning arranger Ian Fraser.
