Washington has been featured at the prestigious “Just for Laughs” twice, traveled three years with The Queen of South Aretha Franklin as her opening act, and appeared on the HBO Aspen Comedy Festival. Washington has also appeared on Def Comedy Jam by HBO, Last Comic Standing, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Comedy Central’s Premium Blend.
Washington has been described as one of the most diverse comedians in the United States by the NBC stand-up for diversity initiative. He was a celebrity judge on the popular series by Carnival Cruise Line entitled “Island Hoppers,” along with James Van Der Beek. He released an album named “The Washington Posts” (2019) that received commercial and critical success. The album has been distributed by Warner Brothers and 800 Pound Gorilla since its release.
Billy D. Washington has written and directed two award-winning short films, created a sonic fiction podcast named “Tales of the Virus,” and 14 plays that were written and directed by himself.
