Bernadette Peters is an actress, singer, and children's book author. With a career of over 60 years, she has been a leading lady in musical theater, on screen, in films, and in solo performances and albums. The highly lauded Broadway performer has been nominated for nine Drama Desk Awards, won three, and garnered seven Tony Award nominations, two of which she won (plus an honorary award).
After that, she had a part that garnered her a Primetime Emmy nomination: Deb in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020–2021) and the 2021 TV movie Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas. High Desert, a comedy series for Apple TV+, will include Peters in a recurring role as Roslyn starting in 2023.
From September 2023 to January 2024, Peters and Lea Salonga made their West End début in Old Friends, a tribute revue to Stephen Sondheim, which was shown at the Gielgud Theatre. After a pre-Broadway run at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, the revue is set to travel to Broadway's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in March 2025, once again starring Peters and Salonga.
