Austin French (February 13, 1994) is an American Christian pop and contemporary worship musician born in Cordele, Georgia. French first wished to be a contemporary Christian artist when he was young. Early on in his career, he founded many bands to promote and learn to take his music to churches, stages, and the general public. He had already begun touring in while he was in high school.
At the age of 18, French began leading at Journey Church in Tifton and became the full-time worship pastor. For three years straight, he led the congregation and the musicians in worship. For the first time in 2014 on the ABC TV show named “Rising Star,” French performed songs, including “If I Ain’t Got You” and “Bless the Broken Road.” Millions of viewers were impressed by his performance, including Brad Paisley, Kesha, and Ludacris, who acted as judges. During this competition, he was able to reach the finale.
On December 8, 2017, French released his debut single entitled “Freedom Hymn.” The single reached the Billboard Hot Christian Songs Top 10 and peaked at number 8. Next year, on September 7, French released his debut album entitled “Wide Open”. It featured 12 songs, including singles “Good Feeling,” “Born Again,” “Why God,” “Wide Open,” and “Freedom Hymn.” The album charted on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and Heatseekers Albums charts at number 30 and 9.
