Ali Azimi Information
Ali Azimi is an Iranian musician, singer, and guitarist. He was born in Tehran, Iran. He taught himself how to play the piano and then took classical guitar lessons from Bagher Moazen. Azimi received his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cambridge.
In his early 30s, Ali Azimi left his career as a mechanical engineer in the UK to pursue his lifelong love of music. Two songs, "33" from Mr. Mean and "Tatilat" from Radio Tehran, draw inspiration from this event. During this time, Ali also started his own production business called Sakkou, through which he recorded and released albums of underground Iranian music to raise awareness for the talented musicians who cannot openly express their passion for music in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ali Azimi left his job as an engineer in the United States in 1388 (2009) to start the Iranian rock band Radio Tehran. Ali fronted a new group and released an album called 88. The album introduced a new tone to the Iranian alternative music scene while addressing the difficulties facing young Iranians. Ali Azimi's debut solo album, Mr. Mean, was released in October 2013. He had previously been in the band X. Songs like "Prelude" and "Aghaye Past" from this album have become huge hits.
