Fortune Sound Club is a nightclub located in Chinatown, Vancouver, BC. The club was formerly known as Royal Unicorn Cabaret and was established in 2009. The venue is owned and operated by Garret’ GMan’ Louie & Rob Rizk. It deals in Underground music, Experimental music, Rock music, Hip-Hop, R&B, Electronic Music, and Top 40. Fortune Sound Club originated as a nightclub with a very niche-specific demographic, once known as the ‘hipster’ nightclub of Vancouver.

Fortune Sound Club is well-known for hosting multiple cultural weekly nights and supporting events that are more catered towards the alt-underground community. The venue is popular for club nights and concerts, but it is a unique community gathering spot such as pop-up shops, food fairs, art shows, and mental health seminars. In the past, the Fortune Sound Club building served as the infamous Ming’s Restaurant’s location before it was closed.

The bar is famous for its Function-One sound system. The entire nightclub has been designed around this sound system to maximize technology. Since its opening, the Fortune Sound Club has won many awards, including the 2019, 2018, and 2016 Golden Owl Awards for the best Vancouver nightclub, Populist, and The Georgia Straight for the best dance club (2013, 2014, and 2015).
