Soul Asylum Newton Theatre Newton

The Newton Theatre is a performing arts center that is located in the heart of Sussex County. The theatre was inaugurated for the public in 1924. It has a seating capacity of 605. The venue is best known for presenting diverse programming, including world-renowned music acts, holiday shows, family shows, and comedians. The historic charm along with world-class entertainment make the performing arts center a premier entertainment venue.

The theatre is also known for showing movies on one of the biggest Sussex County screens featuring an all-new surround sound system and digital movie system. Films are screened weekly, ranging from classic, smaller indie films to acclaimed ones. Some of the top movies include Moonlight, Lion, La La Land, Hidden Figures, Manchester by the Sea, and many more. The venue also shows event films such as film festivals and Rocky Horror Picture Show. Some of the iconic performers who performed at the theatre include Lyle Lovett, Kansas, Arlo Guthrie, Jon Anderson, Judy Collins, and many more.

The Glenn Miller Orchestra has all graced the stage of the Newton Theatre. The venue also hosts an Autism Awareness and Fundraising event on an annual basis. Like other events, this event also benefits local schools and Veterans.
