Chiles Center, known as The Earle A. & Virginia H. Chiles Center, is a multi-purpose arena located at the University Park, Portland, Oregon. The center opened to the general public in October 1984. It has a seating capacity of around 4,852 people. The center is owned and operated by the University of Portland. The arena is used for special events such as school graduations, concerts, and some other athletic tournaments. The Chiles Center is equipped with two scoreboards, a center-hung video system installed in center court, and three-sided shot clocks.

In 1992 and 2007, the venue hosted the West Coast Conference men’s basketball tournament. The arena has also hosted hundreds of events since opened, which continues to date. It is home to the University of Portland Pilots men’s and women’s basketball teams. Men’s and women’s volleyball teams also use this venue as their home field. Some big names who appeared at the Chiles Center are the Dalai Lama, Stephen Hawking, Bob Dylan, and the former President of the United States, George W. Bush.
