The Greeley Stampede is a celebration that is also known as the Greeley Independence Stampede. This celebratory event is held in Greeley, Colorado, and spans two weekends featuring endless entertainment. Entertainment includes bull riding and kids' rodeos, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)-sanctioned rodeo, country, classic rock concerts, a 4th of July parade, and demolition derby, Western Art Show, free stage entertainment, Carnival Midway, along with several festival events.
This Stampede dates back to the late 1800s as a traditional and heritage-rich festival. It was the largest festival and fair across the globe by 1920. The community celebration was initially initiated to honor local potato farmers. It has now grown into an internationally acclaimed fair that attracts around 450,000 people from all parts of the world annually. The celebration is the second-largest in Colorado, featuring one of the largest rodeos across the globe.
The Greeley Stampede features other entertainment such as fancy roping, pie-eating contests, bucking bronco riding, horse racing, motorcycle, and bicycle races.
