Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at Oregon State Beavers Baseball
Goss Stadium at Coleman Field is a popular college baseball stadium located in Corvallis, Oregon. The stadium is located on the Oregon State University campus and is owned and operated by Oregon State University. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 3,000 and serves as a home to the Oregon State Beavers of the Pac-12 conference and Corvallis Knights - (WCL).
The first game played at the Goss Stadium was on April 12, 1907. Later on, the field was named “Ralph Coleman Field,” after long-time Beavers baseball coach Ralph Coleman, who stepped down as the team’s head coach following the 1966 season after 35 seasons. In 1981, the Scott Halbrook Memorial Scoreboard was added to the field in memory of the 1981 freshman outfielder who had died just three days before his first season in an accident.
The Goss Stadium expansion project extended the stadium down the 1st and 3rd baselines in May 2008. Due to this expansion, the capacity was raised from 2,000 to 3,248 spectators. Also, a suite overlooking the field along the first baseline named the Omaha Room was built. Two of the other notable extensions are an academic center and the Oregon State Baseball Hall of Fame area.
