David H. Koch Theatre is a performing arts theater located at 20 Lincoln Center Plaza, (between Columbus Avenue and 63rd Street), New York. The Theater is used for ballets and all kinds of dance events, including modern and classical. It is also known as the New York State Theater. The David H. Koch Theater has a seating capacity of approximately 2,586. The theater first opened to the general public on April 23, 1964. Currently, it is owned and operated by the City of New York. Philip Johnson and Johnson Burgee architecturally designed it. The David H. Koch Theater is home to the New York City Ballet since 1964 and a second home to American Ballet Theater (in the fall) as well as to New York City Opera from 1964 to 2011. The Theater has undergone some significant renovations in the year 2008 by architect “JCJ of New York City.”

David H. Koch Theater has hosted some of the classical Broadway Revivals; The King and I, Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel, Show Boat, South Pacific, and Nutcracker. It also hosted some of the magnificent presentations by Royal Ballet; The Perking Opera, and the Bolshoi Ballet. The venue is one of the signature venues of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
