El Corazon - Seattle WA
Mustard Plug and The Toasters (21+ Event)
El Corazon is a live music venue in Seattle, WA. It was opened in 2005 by Dana Sims, who had no trouble naming the venue, meaning “The Heart” in Spanish. Since its inception, the site has functioned as a live music venue and a club or bar since 1910. This live music venue has helped launch some of the most iconic bands of Seattle. Some of the venue’s former names are Sub-Zero, The Eastlake East Café, Graceland, The Off Ramp, and Au Go Go.
El Corazon was declared the heart of the grunge explosion in the ’90s, which ultimately changed Seattle and its music forever. The first five shows of Pearl Jam took place at this live music venue. Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Mudhoney also rocked the stage at El Corazon. Even Nirvana debuted an early version of Aneurysm at the venue in 1990, before its official release the next year.
El Corazon served as a launching pad for Seattle bands’ new generations, which have later gone on to big record deals and world tours. Some of the other notable acts include The Fall Of Troy, Aiden, Schoolyard Heroes, Himsa, 3 Inches Of Blood, This Providence, Macklemore, and Monsters Scare You.
