Hubbard Stage is one of the famous stages present in the Tony Award-winning Theatre Company in Houston, Texas. The theatre is one of the oldest professional theatres in Texas and the third oldest in the United States.
The new home of the Alley Theatre was opened in November 1968 with two stages among which, one is the Hubbard Stage that currently has a seating capacity of 774. The building went through a major renovation in 2013-2015 that cost around $46.5 million, being the first major renovation to occur after the building's opening in 1968.
Hubbard Theatre reopened for the public after undergoing renovations on October 2, 2015. The reopening of the Hubbard Stage took place with One Man, Two Guvnors. World premieres that have been presented at the venue include Wonderland (2010), The Monster at the Door (2011), A Weekend with Pablo Picasso by Herbert Siguenza (2011), Ether Dome by Elizabeth Egloff (2011), Fool by Theresa Rebeck (2014), Describe the Night by Rajiv Joseph (2017), Lover, Beloved: An Evening with Carson McCullers by Suzanne Vega and Duncan Sheik (2018), Cleo by Lawrence Wright (2018), and countless others.
