The Altria Theater is situated at 6 N Laurel Street, Richmond, Virginia, United States. This venue has a seating capacity of around 3,565 people at a time. The Altria Theatre was opened on October 28, 1927. This is one of the historical places of the United States, along with being the largest venue of Richmond CenterStage’s performing art Complex. This venue was also called, “The Mosque” and “The Landmark Theater” formally. The theatre went through rebuilding procedures from the year 2013 through 2014.

This historic venue was built for the Shriners of Acca Temple Shrine. History tells that afterward, this place was purchased by the City of Richmond and they converted the majority of the place into a municipal usage area. The Police of Richmond captured the basement area and built their training center, swimming pool, classrooms, and offices. It officially became Altria Theatre in the year 2014 with the renovation of around $10 million.

The Altria Theater was designed in a Moorish revival style. This place hosts some major theatrical and musical performances yearly. The most broadway performances of this place were The Lion King, Wicked, Les Miserables and Cats.
