The Ford Park was open to the general public on November 8, 2003, with a construction cost of $75 million. It has a seating capacity of 9,737. Long Architects Inc designed the architecture of the venue. The Ford Park is under the ownership of Jefferson County, and it is operated by SMG. The Ford Park serves as the home to the South Texas State Fair. The park consists of Ford Arena, Ford Exhibit Hall, Ford Field, Ford Pavilion, and Ford Midway.
The Ford arena of Ford Park has been serving as a host to several events, games, and concerts. It hosts rodeos, ice shows, circuses, motorsports, and many other events. The venue served as a former home to several professional teams. The Exhibit Hall is a multi-purpose hall that hosts exhibits, boat shows, and much more. The Ford Fields consists of 12 softball and football fields. Ford Midway is a 9 acres midway that serves as the venue for fairs, carnivals, and other significant outdoor events. Ford Pavilion at the Ford Park is an outdoor amphitheater that consists of 2 Star Dressing rooms, three production offices, two supporting act dressing rooms, seven loading bays, parking, restrooms, and concessions.
