The Grossinger Motors Arena, previously named as the U.S Cellular Coliseum and commonly the Coliseum, is located at 101 South Madison Street in downtown Bloomington, Illinois. It was built on August 19, 2004, and opened to the general public on April 1, 2006. The seating capacity of the venue is 7,000 for Hockey and Indoor Football, whereas 8,000 for concerts. The arena is owned by the City of Bloomington and operated by VenuWorks. The architecture of the arena was designed by BBB Architects, Ltd, with a construction cost of $37 million. Primary tenants of the arena include; Bloomington Edge (Independent) from 2006-2018, Bloomington Prairie Thunder from 2006-2011, Bloomington Blaze from 2011-2013, Bloomington Thunder from 2013-2014, Central Illinois Flying Aces from 2014-2019, and Illinois State Redbirds.
The Grossinger arena served host to several notable annual schools and college graduation ceremonies such as; Bloomington High School, Normal Community High School, Normal West High School, and Heartland Community College. The venue also hosted the Illinois State University Redbirds hockey club. Several other sports events are also presented in the arena every year.
