It is under the ownership of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and operated by the same. The seating capacity of the main stage is 2,258, and for the Carson Theater, it is 250. The Lied Center for Performing Arts is part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It is used for a variety of events such as theatre, orchestra, speakers, and presentations.
The Lied Center for Performing Arts consists of 5 separate areas: Steinhart Room, Carson Theater, Main Stage, The Cooper Lobby, and The Parker Lobby. The vision behind the inception of the Lied Center is to inspire, educate, and entertain the people of Nebraska with the help of performing arts. The venue provides first-hand experiences for youth and creates new artistic works to contribute to Nebraska’s diverse culture.
