Rynearson Stadium is located on the campus of Eastern Michigan University, at 799 N Hewitt Rd, Ypsilanti, MI. It serves home to the Eastern Michigan University Eagles football team. Currently, it has a seating capacity of approximately 30,200 people. The stadium opened its gate for the general public on September 27, 1969, with a construction cost of around $1.4 million. It is owned and managed by Eastern Michigan University. The venue underwent renovations in 1974 and 1992. An American infrastructure design firm, HNTB Corporation, designed the architecture of the venue. The name "Rynearson" came from the late football coach of the Eastern Michigan team, Elton J. Rynearson.

On September 27, 1969, the first game was played at the stadium, which was held between Eastern Michigan University Eagles team and the Akron team. The stadium achieved its highest attendance record of 26,188 people on November 28, 2008, for a 56-52 victory over Central Michigan. On October 25, 1969, EMU played against the University of Tampa in which Eastern Michigan lost 17-7. Famous rock bands, including Manfred Mann, Savoy Brown, and The Siegel-Schwall Band, performed concerts in the stadium on September 6, 1973. Other musicians and singers who performed at the venue in 1975 are Dave Mason, Santana, Peter Frampton, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. On September 16, 1996, a single-game record crowd of 25,009 people was on hand to watch the match between Eastern Michigan Eagles and UNLV.
