Cory Branan Mississippi Studios Portland

Mississippi Studios is a music venue as well as a recording studio. The venue is located in Portland, Oregon's Boise neighborhood. The studio officially opened for the public in 2003. It is currently under the ownership of Jim Brunberg and Kevin Cradock and operated by the same. Mississippi Studios was formerly a Baptist church. It was completely rebuilt and enlarged to convert the site into what it is today. The construction material was partially taken from the church.

Mississippi Studios is best known for offering incredible acoustics and sightlines. The state-of-the-art analog perfection in the booth and all-custom, non-parallel walls make the venue unique in its own way. The studio and music venue is home to the Bar Bar burger, which can be enjoyed before, after, or during a show. Mississippi Studios is also available for rental purposes hosting small gatherings, daytime retreats, and large, multi-faceted events accommodating 20 to 700 guests.

Mississippi Studios underwent a few expansions which increased its capacity from 85 to 300. The venue is associated with folk and acoustic music generally. Some of the notable names that have performed in the music venue are Stephanie Schneiderman, Lewi Longmire, Rebecca Gates, Pete Krebs, The Dimes, The Portland Cello Project, James Low, and Chris Robley.
